The Unexpected Guest

Krystyna Green, publishing director of Constable, writes:

A change of location for Polish detective Dania Gorska in her latest outing, where she swaps Dundee on the East coast of Scotland for Warsaw, bang in the centre of Poland and the place where she and her twin brother Marek were brought up.  A case of international drug running brings her to the place of her birth, yet once there another unrelated murder further complicates matters, forcing Dania to make the Polish capital her home for a few weeks.

Hania Allen, the author of this series is herself Polish and her love of the place comes shining through these pages.  Not only do we have a cracking, intricate mystery to contend with but we’re introduced to Polish culture, Polish food… it’s a city mini-break within the pages of a book so if you haven’t managed to get away this summer I can heartily recommend this to fill that wanderlust gap.
