What with all that going out and partying in December you’re sure to need a morning-after pick-me-up at some point and, for me, the best solution is a Bloody Christmas Mary! This is basically a Bloody Mary with a little extra festive decoration. Here’s my recipe if you fancy giving it a go.

WARNING: Please drink responsibly. You can also make a great Virgin Bloody Mary with this recipe – all you need to do is leave out the vodka, enjoy!

Bloody Christmas Mary recipe

Ingredients:

• 3 ice cubes
• double shot (50ml) vodka
• juice of ½ a lemon
• 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
• 4 dashes of Tabasco sauce
• 150ml tomato juice
• pinch salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method:

1. Place the ice into a fancy or festive tall glass of your choice and pour in the vodka
2. Add the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and tomato juice then stir it all together
3. Add the salt and pepper to taste
4. Add the festive decoration of your choice, you could use a candy cane or, my personal preference, a sprig of holly – and voila, you have the perfect Christmas Bloody Mary!
